This advanced-level book addresses high-speed analogue design in the context of microwave issues. Since 2003, when the first edition of this book was published, complementary metal oxide semiconductors (CMOS) have grown in popularity both in industry and academia. In this edition of the book the authors have added the relevant equations for CMOS circuits as well as a complete CMOS-based design for each of the major radio frequency building blocks. There is also a new chapter on system issues and a chapter on frequency synthesiser design. There are chapters on: Communications circuits; Issues in RFIC design – noise, linearity and signals; system-level architecture and design consideration; A brief review of technology; Impedance matching; The use and design of passive circuit elements in IC technologies; LNA design; Mixers; Voltage controlled oscillators; Frequency synthesis; and Power amplifiers. |
