Taking into consideration the specific definitions, theorems and equations, this book discusses a particular dynamical model for gene regulatory networks: probabilistic Boolean networks (PBN). It covers basic model properties, inference of model parameters from data, and intervention in the model to increase the likelihood of the network being in desirable states. Taking a broader view, the PBN model can consider the PBN model as a vehicle through which to elucidate the therapeutic goals of translational genomics. There are chapters on: Boolean networks, Structure and dynamics of probabilistic Boolean networks, Inference of model structure, Structural intervention, External control, and Asynchronous networks. |
