The author, Kevin Yank, wrote the first edition of this book back in 2001 when PHP and MySQL were new. Now, to keep up with the competition, and to meet the needs of more demanding projects, they have had to evolve and change and, consequently, have become more difficult to learn. This edition gives a hands-on explanation of what’s involved in building a database-driven website using PHP and MySQL. It’s aimed at intermediate and advanced-level web designers who want to branch out into sever-side programming. There are chapters on: Installation, Introducing My SQL, Introducing PHP, Publishing MySQL data on the web, relational database designs, Structured PHP programming, A content management system, Content formatting with regular expressions, Cookies, sessions and access control, MySQL administration, Advance SQL queries and Binary data. |
