This reference book provides guidance on the specifications and prerequisites that ar required for acceptance testing PET/CT (positive emission tomography/computed tomography) and PET standards, including the professionals to be involved, definitions of applications, minimal required configurations and corresponding parameters, as well as ancillary equipment. It also provides guidelines for routine QC of PET and PET/CT scanners as well as the framework for setting reference values, tolerance values and action levels. If these guidelines are followed the scanner would work under optimal conditions, giving the best performance in routine clinical tasks that involve lesion detection as well as a quantitation of the radioactive material concentration. |
