This book is a compilation and expansion of papers from the International Centre for Nursing Ethics meeting, held in Guildford in 2006. The twenty papers range in topics from examining globalisation as a concept and a reality, to its impact on different regions, to the health of human populations and nursing practice. It also ranges from the right to healthcare and a global basis for nursing ethics, to more specific problems, such as addiction, nurse migration, women prisoners, to nursing standards and terrorism, which all have a global dimension. The book is divided into seven sections: Setting the global scene; Values, rights and responsibilities; Recruitment, migration and regulation; Religion and ethnicity; Nurse education; Patient safety; and Summary. |
