Review: This book brings together information on surgical conditions in infancy and childhood and is aimed at medical students and resident medical officers. It is written by 16 members of staff of the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne (plus one from Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand) and in this edition half the contributors are new staff. The chapter list is: Introduction, Neonatal Emergencies, Head and Neck, Abdomen, Urinary Tract, Trauma, Orthopaedics, Chest, Skin and Soft Tissue, Answer to Case Questions. The book is completed with a 10 page index. Each chapter has case questions, short key points on the chapter and suggestions for further reading.
