| Review: | Originally published in 1987 and now in its 4th edition, this book had demonstrated its popularity and contains over 300 standard letters under nine categories: tendering, contract documents, insurance and other project planning matters, operations on site, payment, extensions of time, loss and/or expense, termination- arbitration- adjudication and completion, sub-contractors. Since the 3rd edition, published in 2003, all the JCT contracts were rewritten. Clause numbers have all changed, while some thing have been put into schedules such as works insurance, third party rights, while others have been removed, such as nominated subcontractors, performance specified work, and contractor’s price statement. Accordingly all the letters have been revised, also in the light of case law and legislation, while some letters have been omitted and others added. |
