Review: Simulink® provides a visual way to construct a simulation of a complex system that evolves in time (by optimizing the mathematical model’s response the designer can optimize the system). Various numerical constants in the model can be changed, allowing the user to tune them so that the simulation portrays the real world. The model can then be shared with other users so that they can design individual components of the system. The resulting design’s embedded software can then be rapidly converted into embedded code that is directly usable for testing in a stand-alone computer. This book takes a tour of the Simulink environment, explaining how to develop a model and then execute the design steps to make the model into a functioning design laboratory.
