This textbook has a practical approach to the management of a range of paediatric disorders. The authors are practising UK dieticians, academic research dieticians, and a psychologist. The book is divided into four parts. The first lays out the principles of paediatric dietetics. Part 2 covers nutrition support and intensive care (enteral nutrition, parental nutrition and nutrition in critically ill children). The next, and largest part of the book, looks at clinical dietetics (preterm infants, gastroenterology, the liver and pancreas, diabetes mellitus, cystic fibrosis, the kidney, the cardiothoracic system, food hypersensitivity etc.). The last part discusses community nutrition (healthy eating, children from ethnic groups, faltering growth, obesity, prevention of food allergies etc.). |
