The original edition of this book aimed to provide a combined general discussion, analytical mathematics, algorithms and real working problems. Since then the Internet was created and then the Web. Correspondingly the book has been expanded and improved. The executable C++ code uses an object-oriented style which is particularly useful for scientific applications. The new edition incorporates over 400 Numerical Recipe routines (more than 100 of them new and many upgraded), a new classification and inference chapter; a new computational geometry chapter; new sections (including interior point methods for linear programming, Mont Carlo Markov chains etc.) etc. |
