Review: Lego Mindstorms was designed for adult Lego fans and has built up quite a following. Here, contributors to the NXT STEP blog have come together with their ideas and enthusiasms for Lego robots. The book is in two parts. The first, Beyond the Basics, explains the differences between the NXT system and the earlier RIS one. It goes on to describe how robots receive instructions, looks at NXT problems and solutions, and gives help with troubleshooting. It also looks at sensors, design and building techniques, Bluetooth enabled devices, and remote control. The second part, The Robots, gives clear and well-illustrated robot building and programming instructions.
