This book aims to provide an overview of the topic, highlighting the complex nature of the control process. It also describes current developments in modelling the control processes of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems and the authors illustrate and develop some of the basic underlying principles of the physiological control organization. Finally, they look at the direction for future research organised around natural analytical questions. There are chapters on: the cardiovascular system under ergonomic workload; respiratory modelling; cardiorespiratory modelling; blood volume and the venous system; and future directions. |
