This book provides a tutorial on the basic techniques and algorithms in adaptive control. It aims to serve readers on a number of levels. Practising engineers with insufficient background to follow the proofs can learn how to design, stimulate and implement parameter estimators and adaptive control schemes without having to understand the proofs fully. Postgraduate students will be able to learn how to design and implement adaptive systems as well as understand the analysis of the simple schemes and get an idea of the steps to be taken in some of the more complex proofs. Finally, advanced students and researchers will be able to grasp the long and technical proofs as training in research in adaptive control and related topics, such as nonlinear systems. There are accompanying examples both within the book and online. |
