This book describes the algorithms and techniques, collectively known as spectral filtering methods, in which singular value decomposition (or a similar decomposition with spectral properties) is used to introduce the necessary regularization or filtering in a reconstructed image. Although regularization methods are specially designed to solve ill-posed problems, beginners in the field of image restoration and regularization do not need to be familiar with them, or with ill-posed problems. MATLAB is used throughout the book. There are chapters on : The image deblurring problem; Manipulating images in MATLAB; The blurring function; Structured matrix computations; SVD and spectral analysis; Regularization by spectral filtering; Color images, smoothing norms, and other topics; as well as and Appendix of MATLAB functions. |
