Before September 11th 2001 little thought was given to the detection of intentionally contaminated water. For the last few years Dan Kroll has been studying the terrorist threat to water and what can be done to ameliorate it. In this book he shares some of the insights he has gained into security issues as they relate to the water industry. He begins by looking at why water should be a target and the history of attacks on water supplies. He then goes on to examine where, in the USA, a water attack might occur. There are chapters on: physical and plant security; cybersecurity; monitoring; responding to an event; and the US Safety Act pertaining to terrorism and liabilities. |
