Here the author provides a detailed description of turbine aerodynamic design and analysis of both axial-flow and radial inflow turbines. The author begins by describing both the basic thermodynamic and fluid dynamics principles and goes on to include chapters on: empirical performance models for axial-flow turbine blade rows; aerodynamic performance analysis of axial-flow turbines; preliminary aerodynamic design of axial-flow turbine stages; airfoil design for axial-flow turbines; industrial axial-flow turbine application procedure; aerodynamic performance analysis of radial-inflow turbines; preliminary aerodynamic design of radial-inflow turbine stages; aerodynamic design of radial-inflow turbine components; design and performance analysis of exhaust diffusers; 2D analysis of the flow in the blade-to-blade plane; and quasi 3D blade passage flow field analysis. All of the design and analysis methods have been implemented on a PC. |
