Windows XP includes no printed guidebook. This book aims to rectify this by providing a start-up manual, with step-by-step instructions for using every Windows feature that you will initially need. It begins by explaining everything you see on the screen when you turn on your XP computer: icons, windows, the Start menu etc. It goes on explain how to work with applications in Windows: launch them, switch between them, swap data between them etc. The Internet-related features are described, including the wizards used to set up your Internet account, Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. Printers and the other mysteries of the Control panel are explained. Finally, it explains how to use user accounts, and set up and use a home network. |
