This new edition is about 20 per cent larger than the previous edition, mainly because the vocabulary of the oil and gas industry has expanded with the technical advances in all the major areas: exploration, drilling, logging, completion, reservoir engineering, and production. It now includes more than 25 000 technical terms. Many of the terms originate in disciplines that have long been associated with the energy industry: geology, geophysics, business, computer science, and law as well as ancillary fields such as electricity, navigation, construction and ecology. |
