The analysis of means (ANOM) is a graphical method of comparing a collection of means, rates, or proportions to see if any of them are significantly different from the overall mean, rate, or proportion. An ANOM decision chart looks similar to a control chart and allows one easily to draw conclusions and interpret results with respect to both statistical and practical significance. In circumstance where one might use ANOVA to analyse fixed main effects, ANOM is appropriate and generally produces a more useful result. This book gives a comprehensive treatment of ANOM, providing the requisite information for comparing means using ANOM with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. It contains examples from a wide variety of fields adapted from real-world applications and data. |
