This book is a collection of original articles in the field of cognitive psychology and presents 45 classic and contemporary readings that give broad coverage of the subject. After an introductory chapter giving an overview, the text is divided into 11 parts covering methods of cognitive psychology, pattern recognition, attention, imagery, memory, using and accessing pre-existing knowledge structures, categorization, language development, language, judgment and decision-making, and reasoning and problem-solving. There is also a useful chapter on how to read a journal article in cognitive psychology. This volume is one of the series Key Readings in Cognition and is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students. |
