Review: Stochastic programming is the study of procedures for decision-making under uncertainty over time. The uncertainty may be in the model’s parameters or may be in the model itself. Uncertainty is modelled over time using scenarios that approximate the future. This book is in two parts. The first gives a synopsis of the best of the publicly-available stochastic programming systems. These codes have been extensively tested over the years. The second part comprises 22 application papers. The applications include production, supply chain and scheduling, gaming’ environmental and pollution control, financial modelling, telecommunications, and evaluating electricity generation capacity.
