The rapidly expanding fields of nanoscience and biotechnology have led to the development of nanobiotechnology. This multi-author reference book, which emphasizes the use of nanoparticles, describes many of the methods used in three broad areas of the science: in novel materials synthesis, dynamic cellular imaging and biological assays. The first chapter provides an overview of the applications of quantum dots in biology, and is illustrated with colour plates. All chapters provide a helpful summary at the start and are supported by reference lists. A companion CD is included. The book is aimed at researchers in this field, both beginners and the more experienced. |
