Review: The book integrates the many areas of neuroscience into a book on neurobiology specifically for clinicians. The well illustrated text is arranged in two main sections covering the basic principles of neuroscience and the neuroscience of mental disorders. The first section deals with neuroanatomy and includes a chapter on cortical function illustrated with colour plates. The contents of the second section reflect the conditions seen in everyday clinical practice, with chapters on ADHD, antisocial behaviour and schizophrenia, among others. A final chapter discusses ethical and cultural issues. The book will be useful to all practising mental health clinicians, both medical and non-medical, and to students in clinical psychiatry and other disciplines.
