This book takes you on a space tourism trip of the future and, along the way, the author Michael Van Pelt, an aerospace engineer, explains the technology, medical issues, astronaut training and possibilities for holidays far from Earth. He explains what space tourism is and it is now time to take it seriously. He also looks at the costs of current and future space launch vehicles and how they could be made cheap enough for mass-market tourism. The author then goes on to talk about life in microgravity space stations and the fun things that an Earth orbit trip could offer to tourists. Finally, he looks into the more distant future when distant travel to the Moon, Mars and beyond may be possible. |
