As the number and variety of machines increase, vibration becomes an ever-expanding topic. This large volume contains the 68 papers given at the conference run by the IMechE in Cardiff in September 2004. The conference provided a forum for the discussion of theoretical, experimental and computational rotor dynamics, alongside the state-of-the-art developments in rotating machines. The papers are divided into eleven groups: Seals; Bearings; Analysis; Experimental; Case studies; Diagnostics; Cracked rotors; Modelling and analysis; Modelling and optimisation; Rub-related vibration; and Smart machine concepts. |
