The basis of this book was a guide for cement manufacturers to help them communicate and involve interested parties in substantive decisions. The idea was expanded to include experiences from other industries. It provides a sep-by-step approach, case studies, and tools for designing and managing communications and stakeholder involvement. The book is intended to support organisations and industrial facilities, among others, that are interested in implementing the new US ISO 14063 (the latest in the 14001 series) environmental communication standard. Using a scenario, the authors provide guidance on how to begin or upgrade communications with stakeholders. It discusses who to involve and when to involve them, what is the sustainable development message, what feedback one wants, and how and where one should communicate with stakeholders. |
