Advances in materials and fabrication techniques of sensors over the last twenty years have led to the development of new sensing techniques and devices. This book provides an insight into the generic operating principles and physics behind the new developments of sensors and associated signal processing systems. There are chapters on: resonator sensors; semi-conductor-based sensors; optical fibre sensors; intelligent sensing; data sign characterization and recovery; and novel developments in flow measurement systems. The book has been distilled from the author’s undergraduate lectures to students who had already completed a more traditional instrumentation module. |
