Review: This book gives a detailed account of the dozens of spacecraft that have got to the moon since the 1950s. It describes not only the spacecraft and their missions, but also the results of each mission, with an insight into the politics and management of the various space programmes. As well as covering the well-documented US and Soviet manned and unmanned missions, Paolo Ulivi uses recently unclassified information to describe Chinese lunar exploration missions and the lunar nuclear weapons that were developed by the superpowers in the 1950s.
