This book is about pipelines, usually carrying oil and gas, but maybe water, that are laid underwater. The authors cover all aspects of pipeline construction: choosing the route and the materials from which the pipe is to be made, deciding on the diameter and wall thickness of the pipe, choosing an anti-corrosion coating and suppressing corrosion, choosing a method of constructing the pipeline, and preventing the pipe from buckling. There are also chapters on risks and accidents, and a look at the new techniques in the design and construction of pipelines. |
