Risk management is increasingly being mandated by regulations: regulators are directly auditing risk assessment programmes and risk management plans are increasingly coming under direct public scrutiny. As in past editions, this book provides a simple and hassle-free approach to putting together an assessment tool, providing frameworks in which a given set of evidence consistently leads to a specific degree of belief regarding the safety of a pipeline. In addition, this edition aims to provide a reference book for new concepts and ideas, and some new templates covering a wide range of pipeline risk issues and modelling options. It includes new examples of assessment schemes, and the Corrosion Index and Leak Impact factor> tables have been made more intuitive. |
