Review: This new bilingual (English/French) edition of the 1984 catalogue provides data on floods and basin characteristics from 120 countries and territories. The aim of the catalogue is to provide for each country the assessment and safekeeping of data on large floods for at least the main stations, and to permit an as exhaustive as possible world review of the largest floods for the different hydrological regions. The data are listed by country; for most countries there are three tables – the location of the site and background information; the maximum instantaneous discharge observed during the event; and the annual maximum discharge data.
