This colour-illustrated non-technical chemistry book is an introduction to some of the millions of molecules, such as those in fabrics, drugs, plastics, explosives, detergents, fragrances, tastes and sex, that are responsible for our everyday experiences of life. The beautifully presented second edition has many additional molecules and completely new graphical presentation. The author has tried to avoid technical terms as far as possible and has provided a helpful glossary to explain the unavoidable ones. There is a website for the book, showing all the molecules and allowing the user to rotate them or manipulate them in other ways. This book will be of interest to a very broad readership, chemists and non-chemists alike. |
