This book, for busy contractors, sets out Ten Commandments for more effective contracting and puts these commandments into a context that you can be applied in the workplace. The Commandments are: Thou shalt ‘…contract within the law and the working environments of the contracting parties’; ‘… not mix up the wrong work packages’; ‘…listen to, and understand the real wishes and needs of the customer’; ‘…not blindly pick the cheapest contractor because they may have made the biggest mistake’;’…not be ambiguous and vague’;’…share out risks equitably’;’…trust the contracting partner’;’…not mess unduly with the agreed contract’;’…deal rationally and fairly with inevitable changes to the contract’;’ …not kill (your contracting partner)’. The last chapter explains how to put the ten commandments of good procurement or contracting into practice in a cohesive way. |
