Review: This Classic Edition was originally published in 1979. Two new techniques that have made important contributions to the numerical solutions of nonlinear systems of equations are: the predictor–corrector method or the pseudo arc-length method, and the simplicial or piecewise linear method. This book provides details on the numerical aspects of both methods and studies their properties and highlights their similarities. The book also contains the piecewise linear approximation of implicitly defines surfaces, the algorithms of which are frequently used in computer graphics, mesh generation, and the evaluation of surface integrals. This edition contains an update to the literature and URLs from which codes can be obtained.
