This book looks at the whole ecosystem of the coastal realm and looks at coastal realm issues, conservation tools, and the link between conservation science and policy. It is divided into four sections. The first explains the conservation issues and the mechanisms used to balance social demands with environmental health and resource sustainability. The second section gives case studies of Chesapeake Bay, the Bering Sea and the Bahamas. The last part looks at the factors involved in the analysis of changes in coastal realms and the history and challenge for the future of coastal-realm conservation. |
