Review: This book reviews eight of the major contributions to the courses of the summer School of Solar Astrophysics, held in France in May 2000. The aim of the school was to present a set of narrow topics of high current interest in solar astrophysics. Topics include: why we should want to study the Figure of the Sun and how we can compute it; using helioseismology to probe the Sun’s interior; detection of solar eigenmodes variations in solar irradiance; total solar and UV irradiance; the measurement of the solar diameter; solar astronomy with the Astrolabe of Santiago; and visual measurements of the Sun’s radiance.
