| Review: | In his original 1950 paper, Lanczos called his method the method of minimized iterations. The first half of the book explains Lanczos’ original method and describes, through algorithms, its evolution to the present state-of-the-art adaptive methods. The second half of the book describes industrial applications, drawn from the author’s experience, of Lanczos’ method, in particular the industrial applications of normal modes and complex eigenvalue analyses and frequency response analysis. The book concludes with the application of Lanczos’ method for the solution of linear systems. |
