This is the latest volume in the Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Physics series. The series is based on Symposia held at la Jolla International School of Science, where invited contributors are asked to go beyond the narrow particulars of their work and reflect on larger questions, problems and trends. These selected papers are a result of the Conference held in La Jolla in July 2000. The topics, on lasermatter interactions, include: X-ray protein crystallography; the kinetic theory of lasermatter interaction; petawatt laser pulses in plasmas; ICF implosion physics; relativistic electrons in super dense plasmas; and fusion plasmas |
