These are the Proceedings of the 18th Conference held in Edinburgh in March 2003. The 47 papers discuss: computer-aided design and manufacture; computer-aided production planning; quality in manufacture and design; concurrent engineering and design for manufacture; production and control; Al-application in manufacturing; manufacturing and supply chain management; manufacturing processes; rapid prototyping; robotics in medicine; and computer-aided orthopaedic surgery. This Conference included innovative and new uses of computer-aide production engineering techniques as an aid to manufacturing prostheses, by well-known methods of CAD and manufacture, and the use of agile manufacture and robotics in medicine. |
