This textbook presents several approaches to adaptive control ‘adaptive’ in the sense that it changes its output in response to a change in the error. A truly adaptive controller adapts its output as well as its underlying control strategy. Very few adaptive controllers capable of updating their control strategies online are available commercially as off-the-shelf software. The six chapters of this book each covers an example, written by the product’s developer: EXACT; Connoisseur; Brainwave; CyboCon; and Knowledgescape. They also give examples of how well the products have worked, both in simulations and in practice. |
