This is the latest edition in the Tribology in Practice series. Total Tribology is defined as the practice of considering tribology at all stages of the lifecycle of interface components. The total view encompasses: concept, design, manufacture, use, storage and disposal of engineering components, complete systems, and consumables. This book is a collection of papers that supported the seminars held by the Tribology Group of the IMechE during 2001 and 2002.They present the current principles, concepts, trends and practice in areas such as condition monitoring, lubrication, coatings and materials. |
