Transient electromagnetic phenomena can be treated in two ways: using either direct time domain modelling, or by frequency domain analysis, applying the inverse Fourier transform. Both approaches are important as each has its own advantages, depending on the situation or application. The book begins by reviewing the fundamental aspects of transient electromagnetics, and goes on to look at the governing differential and integral equations. A special feature is the detailed treatment given to both the frequency and time domain integral equation techniques that have been developed by the authors. The time independent method of Moments and the time domain Finite Element Integral Method are both fully explained. |
