These papers look at differing aspects of the effects of transport on different social groups. They are written by leading authorities from transport planning, sociology, geography, and environmental studies who present different frameworks from theories of consumption to ethnography to provide new insights and policies. The papers are divided into four areas: Globalisation, markets and policy: Post-modernity and reflexity; The need for new paradigms; Cultural Studies; and New dimensions in mobility discourses. |
