This well-illustrated textbook clearly describes the principles behind the clinical use of ultrasound systems at a level that is appropriate for sonographers and medical clinicians. With this in mind, complex techniques, such as Doppler frequency estimation using FFT and 2D autocorrelation, are described in terms of their function, but not in terms of their signal processing, and the use of mathematical equations is kept to a minimum. Novel techniques, such as tissue Doppler imaging and contrast agents, are included. |
