Agronomy deals with the theory and practice of field crop production and management. The author’s objective in this handbook was to cover a full range of crops and soils so that readers would need only to refer to one book. The book is divided into 5 parts (a 6th one covers references and appendices). Part 1 of nearly half the book, covers the wide variety of crops and their care; grain crops, nut, bean and oil crops, cotton and sugar beat. The rest of the book covers soils, with Part 2 devoted to classifications and characteristics, Part 3 to properties, Part 4 to analysis and treatment and Part 5 to diagnostic procedures and analysis. The book contains a wide range of fundamental information with a large amount of tabular detail. |
