This is the latest book in the series on cosmetic science and technology. It covers the topic from a variety of angles. First, it defines what constitutes a multifunctional product (ingredients-based, performance-based, multiple situation products). Particular categories for personal care: hair care, multifunctional shampoo, skin and nail care products, cosmetic/pharmaceutical products, and oral care products are all discussed in detail. Specific functional categories are covered, such as how to add moisturising or conditioning functionality to products, or add a sunscreen or antibacterial property to it. The last three chapters of the book describe some of the considerations that need to be taken into account when creating multifunctional products, such as designing and implementing tests to support your claims, and covering legal considerations, and finally, packaging concepts |
