The buildings of architect Helmut Jahn from Chicago, and the engineers Werner Sobek and Matthias Schuler from Stuttgart, integrate architecture, engineering and building technology. The credo is transparency, openness and inner flexibility. This book describes some of their built projects in the USA and Germany, and the low-rise and high-rise projects and halls throughout the world. Their recent projects include: the EU headquarters in Charlemagne, Munich airport centre, the Sony Centre in Berlin, the Cologne/Bonn airport, office buildings for the Deutsch Post in Bonn, Shanghai International Airport, Illinois Institute of Technology Campus Center and Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre. |
