This book presents the results of the seminar held in Brussels in May 2000. It looks at the following three key questions in evaluation of the transport sector. What is the new European context of evaluation? - the institutional context of transport policy-making and implementation; the development of environmental policy; and the challenges of the enlargement. How relevant is evaluation theory for addressing contemporary transport challenges? How useful are conventional assessment methods such as cost-benefit analysis and multi-criteria analysis for answering modern complex evaluation question in transport? |
