The work described in this volume illustrates the wide rang of contributions that Joseph Chatt (19141994) made to organic chemistry, with an overspill into organic chemistry and biochemistry. The International Coordination Chemistry Conference, held in the Edinburgh in July 2000, had the theme of Joseph Chatt. The book contains the papers given there, as well as a description of Chatt’s career, given by fellow workers, contemporaries and students. It shows how many of today’s leading practitioners in the field, working in areas as diverse as phosphines, hydrogen complexes, transition metal complexes and nitrogen fixation have been influenced by Chatt. |
