This textbook looks at how techniques for processing images store on a computer can be implemented together. Each chapter gives a particular package of information. It begins with an overview of computer vision hardware, software and established material, with reference to the human vision system. It goes on to describe the basics of signal processing theory for use in computer vision and basic image-processing techniques. The techniques that describe the contents of the image, the 'low-level features' as well as techniques that describe the shape's perimeter and its area are covered in detail. Finally, texture analysis and pattern classification are discussed. |
